The 3D BluePrint group was created by people who had had enough of the way the AEC industry works. By starting their own company they could do things differently, resulting in more transparency for all participants, more integration and more efficiency. Besides creating our own working method as explained in the method page, this also meant continous early adaptation of new technologies.

Since 2002 3D BluePrint has been using 3D BIM technology in all its projects with no exeption. Furthermore, our Wubbo Hazewinkel, a founding partner of the 3D Blueprint, is president of the Benelux chapter of the International Aliance of Interoperability . 3D BluePrint is convinced that change in the AEC industry should also come from the architect and engineering firms and not solely from software suppliers.

The goal of the research and development effort of 3D BluePrint is to support our working method with state-of-the-art software solutions. How do we apply available and required software to create a transparent, integrated and more efficient design process? One of our current research and development efforts is the First Dutch Modelserver project. For effective design coordination a central model database will most certainly be needed. The IFC modelserver from Norwegian EPM technologies seems a promising solution, thus a group of Dutch companies have joint forces to try it out in use cases.
